I am quite proud of how the doppelganger's hand looks in panel two, thank you very much

Silas...don't touch things that want to kill you.
Survival 101.

ALSO! Just a head's up that we'll be taking a break for July 4th next week. I know this is lousy timing where the story is right now, but when I started the comic, I knew I would be putting in some breaks during a holiday or two during the year to rest and build the buffer back up. Christmas and July Fourth are perfectly spaced apart to be the two official break times for now.
But don't worry, there will be some cute star-spangled character art next week. ;-)

Aww, I live Silas's face in that last panel! So the real Selina's leg hasn't healed fully either? What exactly is still wrong? It was hard to tell in the first few panels how well she was actually moving.

@Alex M: In her escape from the collapsing tunnel, Selina's knee was broken, and then having to walk on it for three miles to the castle afterward caused severe nerve damage. The kneecap itself has broken blood vessels, hence the red, blotchy marks. And the brace she has is actually an immobilizer. Because Selina can stand on it, but bending it causes pain. In the first few pages when she was running away from her mother, her brace couldn't allow her knee to bend, which is why she was hobbling. It's assumed by most that Selina will have to deal with her crippled leg for the rest of her life. Nothing is still "wrong" so to speak, it's just that the damage caused left some fairly permanent injuries. Not that Silas cares. Good question!

Does Selina's injured leg affect the dragon version of her at all?
Livin4thelamb June 26th, 2017, 6:31 am
@Kawainohia: You shall see!

I think this is a good stopping point! Though I wonder what Doppleganger Selina will do next! :o

@Anselme: Well, thank you! Just want to make sure I'm pacing myself well, you know?
Right, as for the Doppelganger, well...it's not gonna be good.

I love the facial expressions and body language in this page: Silas' warmth and concern contrasting with not-Selina's stiffness and feigned emotion. This, combined with the surrealism of the colors, result in an almost "calm before the storm" atmosphere.

@Becky Farb: Thank you! Selina's skin tone has always looked pale compared to Silas', but even more so here. And I really liked how the calming colors contrasts with the tension of the scene, the "calm before the storm," like you said. Thanks!
