Hey, Silas, hey, take notes, she appears to like flowers.

Hoo boy - the level of cameos on this page is pretty intense, so here it goes:

In the first panel, the girl in the green dress is named Lynn, and she based on my sister-in-law, KayAnn.

In the second panel, the hairdresser in the second panel is named Ginny, and she is a cameo of me, actually. ;-)

In the fourth panel, the girl playing the organ is based on my friend Elizabeth, who plays the organ really well! The three girls on the end of the line are based on three of my friends: Emily in the pink dress, Sarah in the purple dress, and Missy in the red dress.

And in case you're wondering, the group is dancing the Virginia Reel.

Dangit, there's just so many things I like about this page! I like the explanation of why she cut her hair--I was wondering. It seems a lot of the women there wear it short. Also, I thought the hairdresser looked like you (and is the only woman wearing shorts?), but didn't want to jump the gun and just guess it. I know you so well. :)

I love the flowy dresses in the dance panel--it reminds me of the dancing montage from Tangled! (That music is totally playing in my head.) And I love Silas' expression in the final panel. It just feels very natural, as does the pose.

@Alex M: Oh my, thank you! I can tell you took your time looking and commenting. :-) and yes, she's the only one wearing shorts since there's a festival going on right now. Otherwise everyone would be a little more casually dressed.
And yup, that's me. ;-) I'm sad you can't see it, but Ginny is wearing the same dolphin earring I have as well.
And thank you! I like how Silas turned out in the last panel as well. Let me tell you, reference pictures will save your life.

And don't forget the bald guy playing the flute in the third panel. (Hint: it isn't a flute!) Seriously though, I love how the village is basically the polar opposite of Selina's underground home. And, once again, I cannot get over how well you draw cloth! The flowing skirts on this page are amazing.

@Becky Farb: Ha ha, yes! And thank you! Drawing cloth is the artist's equivalent to having to walking in burning coals. You can see other people do it effortlessly and it's impressive but when you try it you end up frustrated and burned out. Ha ha, no pun intended.

Call me a liar if you want, but I have to say THIS is my favorite page now!! (well, really, every page has been my favorite ;)
I just love how happy this page is!!! I can feel the happiness through the computer screen. :)It's so joyous, and oh! I don't really want to go thru every happy word I can think of!! But that's totally what I'm thinking right now. :)
I love her new haircut too, and also the hover tag----they are always SOOO creative!! :) I have to say this comic is getting better and better each week!! ;D

@Elizabeth Weadick: Oh my goodness, Elizabeth, you are too kind. Thank you. :-) This is definitely one of my favorite pages as well. And I had a lot of fun coming up with the hover tag. :D Thank you.

I thought I recognized those denim shorts ; ) I think I like the blending of eras in these panels. You have Silas in a vest and high boots and kids in dresses, but then you have a hair salon with a lady in shorts. It gives the setting its own mixed flavor, and I like the creativity that that invites!
Livin4thelamb February 24th, 2017, 2:30 pm
@MJ Neal: Thank you! I was going for medieval with a touch of modern. :-) it's been a lot of fun blending the two.
Kawainohia (Guest) February 28th, 2017, 7:18 am
Apparently we all love the hairdresser. ;) Who is she modeled after??
Livin4thelamb February 28th, 2017, 8:01 am
@Kawainohia: Oh, I don't know... Ha ha
Kawainohia (Guest) February 28th, 2017, 7:21 am
Also, love the detail/paraphernalia in hairdresser's studio.
Livin4thelamb February 28th, 2017, 8:02 am
@Kawainohia: Thank you! The shampoo bottles turned out cooler than I thought they would.
