I just keep thinking how frustrating this is for Selina! It's like she's having to multitask killing the doppelganger and protecting Silas.

Also, I love the artistic effects in this page!! How each panel is a small snapshot of the big picture unfolding. It's like a close-up in photography, how a small piece can focus on one thing going on. And, your background style is really cool. I love the "blurred out" dragon in the fourth panel, the way it puts Silas's foot in focus, and the way the figures behind Silas are just silhouettes in the last panel. All very visually creative!

@Alex M: Thanks so much! I'm definitely allowing myself to experiment more and I'm pretty happy with the results.

I agree with Alex's comments- these are getting more visually appealing all the time! Well done!

Poor Silas!!! :( He thinks his (real) new bride Selina is getting killed by a dragon!!!I really LOVE the 4th picture--I love how Silas's foot is in focus, and behind that, out of focus, is the dragon Selina and his fallen sword he's trying to get to. Nice job!! And also, just like Alex said---Selina is totally multitasking here; it's like she has 2 VERY important things both on her hands and she has to take care of both of them at the same time!!!! I'd be frustrated. :)

@Elizabeth Weadick: Thanks! It's pretty safe to say that both are having a pretty bad night.

Not to be unoriginal, but I agree with everyone else : ) The visual storytelling as well as the artistry conveys so much so beautifully!

Also, is it just me or does Ryleigh calling Silas by his first name instead of "your highness" really show how desperate the situation is?

@MJ Neal: Thank you very much! And yes, good catch! Ryleigh usually doesn't refer to the Prince by his first name, but this is an extreme circumstance. Since she came to live at the castle nineteen years ago, she and Silas grew up together. So even though she's officially the bodyguard, she can't help but think of him as a little brother she would die for. And it goes both ways, Silas thinks of her as a protective, older sister.

Probably reiterating what everyone else has already said, but I love the close-ups on this page. My favorite has to be the second panel. You manage to capture the absolute horror Silas is feeling by showing just a fraction of his face. I love the firelight reflected in his eyes. He's (quite literally) seeing his world go up in smoke.

@Becky Farb: Thanks so much, Becky!
